ABOUT ME

Nice to meet you – my name is Dana Friedlander-Oren.
I'm a photographer specializing in brand photography, working across both commercial and artistic fields. I exhibit my work internationally, lecture in photography, and live in Vienna with my husband Eyal and our three very photogenic children.

I’m a fourth-generation photographer in a family that has been documenting Israel since 1926. My great-grandfather was behind Carmel Newsreels, which famously captured the Declaration of Independence and many of Israel’s defining historic moments. I literally grew up among darkrooms, archives, and cameras.

Despite my deep love for photography, I initially pursued law and business studies at Reichman University (IDC Herzliya), and became a certified lawyer. But throughout my degree, I was mostly photographing – and even published my first book, Israel 360, while still a student. So I never truly put the camera down.
In 2019, I completed the Postgraduate Program in Art at HaMidrasha – Faculty of the Arts, Beit Berl College.

I’ve been working as a photographer for over 20 years, focusing on commercial photography for international brands, designers, and major public institutions in Israel — including municipalities, government ministries, and embassies around the world.
I take part in shaping the creative concept from idea to execution, down to the smallest details (which are often the most important).

My work blends a love of styling and strong visual storytelling. Each shoot is dynamic and tailored – combining products, events, spaces, people, and food.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve also taught photography at some of Israel’s leading photography schools.

To date, I’ve published three photography books (Israel 360, Jerusalem 360, and Tel Aviv-Jaffa 360) – all shot with a rare 360-degree film camera. These books offer a unique visual perspective of Israel and have sold over 30,000 copies to date. My work continues to be exhibited in galleries and art shows around the world.

נעים מאד, קוראים לי דנה פרידלנדר - אורן ואני צלמת שמתמחה בצילום מותגים, עוסקת באמנות, מציגה בתערוכות, מרצה לצילום, נשואה לאיל ואמא לשלושה ילדים פוטוגניים. מתגוררת בוינה.

אני דור רביעי למשפחת צלמים מקצועיים שתיעדו את ישראל מ1926, "יומני כרמל" שבין היתר תיעדו את הכרזת העצמאות והאירועים ההיסטוריים של המדינה. כך שבעצם גדלתי בין חדרי חושך, ארכיונים ומצלמות. למרות האהבה העמוקה שלי לצילום, הלכתי ללמוד משפטים ומנהל עסקים בבינתחומי וסיימתי כעו"ד, אבל תוך כדי התואר בעיקר צילמתי ואפילו הוצאתי את הספר הראשון שלי ישראל 360 כך שלא באמת עזבתי את המצלמה אף פעם. אני בוגרת התכנית ללימודי המשך באמנות במדרשה, בית ברל שנת 2019.

אני עוסקת בצילום מעל 20 שנה, מתמקדת בצילום מסחרי של מותגים בינלאומיים, מעצבות ומעצבים, עם גופים גדולים בישראל כמו עיריות, משרדים ממשלתיים וגם עם שגרירויות מסביב לעולם. בצילומים אני שותפה לבניית הקונספט הקריאטיבי משלב הרעיון ועד לביצוע, כולל הפרטים הכי קטנים (כי זה הכי חשוב).

בעבודתי אני משלבת את אהבתי לסטיילינג וקריאטיב, אוהבת להדק קונספט ושפה צילומית, ימי הצילום שלי הם ורסטיליים המשלבים מוצרים, אירועים, חללים, אנשים ואוכל.

ב15 השנים האחרונות אני מלמדת צילום בבתי הספר הגדולים בישראל.

עד כה הוצאתי 3 ספרי צילום (ישראל 360, ירושלים 360 ותל אביב-יפו 360) שצולמו במצלמת פילמים עתיקה ומיוחדת שמצלמת ב360 מעלות, הספרים נמכרו עד היום בלמעלה מ30,000 עותקים. עבודותיי מציגות בתערוכות מסביב לעולם.

April 2014 – International Photography Festival.

March 2014 – Launch of the book Tel Aviv-Jaffa 360 at a solo exhibition featuring photographs from the book at the Bauhaus Gallery. The launch was held in the presence of Tel Aviv-Jaffa Mayor Ron Huldai.

January 2014 – Local Testimony, Eretz Israel Museum, Ramat Aviv. The “Fog Series” was exhibited in the “Local Testimony 2014” exhibition and won second place in the “Urbanism” category.

January 2012 – Solo Exhibition – Israel 360, Delhi, India. Invited by the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi, the exhibition opened during the celebration of 20 years of India-Israel diplomatic relations and was later displayed at the Experimental Art Gallery.

May 2011 – World Scout Movement Conference, Copenhagen. My 360-degree photographs of Israel were printed inside large periscopes representing the Israeli pavilion at the World Scout Movement conference in Copenhagen.

The exhibition was commissioned by the Israeli Embassy in London for Independence Day celebrations. The entire exhibition was acquired by Bank Leumi London.

אפריל 2014 – פסטיבל הצילום הבינלאומי.

מרץ 2014 – השקת הספר תל אביב-יפו 360 בתערוכת יחיד של צילומים מתוך הספר בגלריית באוהאוס. ההשקה התקיימה במעמד ראש עיריית תל אביב-יפו, רון חולדאי.

ינואר 2014 – עדות מקומית, מוזיאון ארץ ישראל, רמת אביב. סדרת ערפילים הוצגה בתערוכת "עדות מקומית 2014", וזכתה במקום השני בקטגוריית "אורבניזם".

ינואר 2012 – תערוכת יחיד – Israel 360, דלהי, הודו. הוזמנתי על ידי שגרירות ישראל בניו דלהי, התערוכה הוצגה בערב הפתיחה לחגיגת 20 שנה ליחסי הודו-ישראל ולאחר מכן הציגה ב- Experimental Art Gallery.

מאי 2011 – כינוס תנועת הצופים העולמית, קופנהגן. צילומים שלי ב-360 מעלות של ישראל הודפסו לתוך פריסקופים גדולים וייצגו את ביתן ישראל בכינוס תנועת הצופים העולמית בקופנהגן.

2010 – מחווה לשירת האגם הגווע (פטר מרום) – תערוכה קבוצתית (אוצר: גיא רז). בית אבי חי, ירושלים ומוזיאון אשדות יעקב.

התערוכה הוזמנה על ידי שגרירות ישראל בלונדון לרגל חגיגות יום העצמאות. התערוכה במלואה נרכשה על ידי בנק לאומי לונדון.
